The first Friends of BCH Quiz Evening was an unqualified success. It was a sell out, the questions provoked debate and competition was fierce. High scores were accumulated and just as the winning post was in sight some of us lost our shirts on the last round. The ultimate winners kept a cool head and bet their points on certainties, ie they were sure they knew the correct answers to the questions in the last round, and the betting odds meant that they ended up with millions of points. It was an unusual and thrilling end to a great evening. Jane and David Curtis not only set and presented the quiz but they also cooked and served a sumptuous supper of lasagne, salad, meringues and fruit - much better than we would have had at home. We raised almost £2000!
