The Belarusian Children’s Hospice (BCH)
  • The Hospice

BCH was the first and is the leading children’s hospice in Belarus.  Based in Minsk, 350 km north of Chernobyl, it provides palliative care for children and young people aged 0-24 years - 67% of its patients have cancer.  The Hospice cares for children at home whenever possible and in-house when necessary.  BCH runs respite care programmes in Minsk and summer holidays at its complex in the Belarussian countryside, bereavement counselling services and training programmes for doctors and other health professionals.

All treatment is provided free of charge.

The Hospice relies on income from Friends of the Belarusian Children’s Hospice (UK) to fund the salaries of its 22 medical and support staff and to run its buildings.
