Hospice At Home
Terminally and chronically ill children, frequently with complex needs, are looked after in their own homes by BCH’s professional teams. Each child is assessed by a hospice doctor. His or her care plan is then discussed with the family before a care team of doctor, nurse, psychologist and family support worker is allocated to work with them.
The family receives as many visits as necessary and there is a 24 hour help-line to provide expert advice and reassurance. This is the principal way in which hospice care is provided for the children.
