A few months ago David Curtis, a supporter of Friends of BCH for many years, emailed the trustees with a suggestion. He wanted to undertake another personal challenge in aid of Friends of BCH and wondered if the Three Peaks Challenge might tick the boxes. After a sharp intake of breath, not only was it agreed that David would commence training but that three trustees (Jane, Daryl Ann and Antoinette) and several other friends would join him in an attempt to climb the highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales.
Daryl Ann wrote, ‘In mid-August, together with a number of friends, we are attempting the Three Peaks Challenge! Yes, that's right... Ben Nevis 1345m, Scafell Pike 978m and Snowdon 1085m, but not in 24 hours between first and last peak. We feel rather too old for that tough a schedule! We are planning to scale as many of these mountains as we can over six days to raise money for Friends of the Belarusian Children's Hospice UK. We are financing the challenge out of our own pockets so all sponsorship money raised will be used to establish and run the new children’s physiotherapy programme at BCH. A first in Belarus!’
