In-Patient Care

There are times when children and/or their families want a child to have in-patient care. BCH has rooms to offer children and their family members at critical points in their illness. This can be when the family are learning to use a new piece of equipment, such as an artificial ventilator, and perhaps as a stepping stone between hospital and home.

There may be many reasons why a family feels unable to care for their child at home right to the very end of his or her life and BCH is there to support them whatever they choose to do. BCH can use these rooms to provide a haven for a dying child and their family. There is a nurse on hand at all times, cooking and washing facilities and a garden.
